[EXPERT PANEL] ‘South Korea and the New Geoeconomics of Asia’ at the Brookings Institution

On May 25, 2022, I spoke for the first time at a panel organized by Dr. Mireya Solis and Dr. Andrew Yeo at the Center on East Asia Policy (CEAP) at the Foreign Policy Program of the Brookings Institution, with distinguished panelists Hye-Min Lee and Wendy Cutler, who were the prime negotiators of the U.S.-ROK FTA a decade ago.

It was an honor to be invited to speak on tech issues as I have been working on data governance, semiconductors, and energy issues pertaining to the proliferation of artificial intelligence in the post-pandemic era. The fact that my research content is desirable on panels such as these reveal that the world is headed towards uncertainty as digitization is accelerated.

The video of the panel is available below, and the second half of the video is session 2 on security issues. Towards the end of the second panel, I raised questions on small modular reactors (SMR) at the end but did not get an answer.
