On September 29, 2021, I will be on an online panel with other distinguished panelists on Europe-Asia COVID-19 Cooperation hosted by the KDIS-FUIKS Korea-Europe Center organized by Dr. Tereza Novotná of the Free University of Berlin in Germany.
I will speak briefly on my project currently ongoing at Princeton, which is an investigation into South Korea’s obscure COVID-19 vaccine procurement and development in the earlier part of the pandemic, and the accelerated vaccination process that was spearheaded by the decision-making and the “Vaccine Procurement Task Force” which was launched at the beginning of 2021 amid criticisms from the South Korean public due to late procurement. The content of my presentation will be based on the preliminary findings from the following article:
- (Invited) June Park. “Expertise as a Response to the Limits of Multilateralism: The Case of South Korea’s ‘Vaccine Procurement Task Force’ for COVID-19 Vaccines amid Unequal Access via the COVAX Facility.” Frontiers in Political Science.
This article will be published in open source form in the special issue, 'The Politics of Expertise: Understanding Interactions between Policy Advice, Government, and Outcomes during the Covid-19 Pandemic'.
The meeting and panel will be held on Webex. If the recording of the panels become available, I will post them on this page.
