Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions from all CELOP students, faculty, and staff.  Submitting work is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Mission: read our mission statement on the About Us page.  We will only publish submissions that align with our mission, or at the very least do not contradict it.
  2. Thoughtfulness: Be thoughtful when submitting about sensitive or controversial topics. We will only publish submissions concerning these topics if they do not shame people or groups of people, but rather help us learn from them, and point towards a positive and productive path forward. The CELOP Sun makes the final decision whether to publish a submission that is potentially controversial.
  3. Specifications:
    • Writing: submit a Word document with the following formatting:
      • Include the title and author’s name at the top.
      • Font
        • Title: Georgia 26
        • Headings: Georgia 18
        • Body: Helvetica 12
      • Use one space between paragraphs.  Do not indent.
      • Photo alignment
        • Do not center photos unless they span the width of the page.  Left-align or right-align them instead.
        • If you left-align one photo, make sure the next photo is also left-aligned.  If you choose to right-align the next photo, make sure there are 3 lines of text in between the opposing photos.
    • Photos: please include details such as a title, the date, and the location taken of each photo.  If submitting an album of photos, it is enough to include details for the entire album.
    • Paintings and Drawings: please include a title, the date painted/drawn, and what method you used (e.g. watercolors, pen sketch, digital software, etc.)
    • Video: please email the original video file.  If it is too large, you can email a link to download the video from an online storage service.  Alternatively, you can publish your video using an online service like YouTube or Vimeo, and email us the link.
