On October 16th, 2015, CELOP students went apple picking. There were more than 40 students, and we left at 2:00 PM.
First, we traveled there by big comfortable bus. Most of the students were chatting and taking pictures. The weather was so nice and the view was beautiful. There were a lot of colorful trees. When we were there we saw a lot of pumpkins. Then someone who worked there asked us to follow her. She gave us bags to collect the apples we picked. After that we went by car inside the garden. Then we began picking apples and they asked us to try them. They were so delicious! I have never tried such a delicious apple like the one I picked. After we collected our apples, they gave us some snacks such as apple juice, apple donuts, and coffee. We really enjoyed the experience.
On November 12th, in the Celop Lobby, we had an opportunity to enjoy delicious Japanese food, anime, origami, budo, and calligraphy.
The food varied. First we had yakisoba, a Japanese fried noodle. The ingredients were pork, cabbage and carrots. Second, We had kara-age, a kind of Japanese fried chicken. The ingredients were chicken, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Third, we had chirashi sushi. The ingredients were crab sticks, soy beans, seaweed, and vinegar.
We also had a chance to try Origami.
I had a chance to experience some parts of Japanese culture and I had a great time!
On November 11th, 2015, members of the CELOP Sun went to Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.
One great thing about Cane's is that it is near CELOP. Just walk up Commonwealth Ave. past Agganis Arena, then cross the street and it will be in front of you. Cane's has four major combos. All of them have chicken fingers, but you can choose a chicken sandwich.
The chicken and french fries are so much fresher than any fast food restaurant I've eaten in. One of the special things about Cane's is their sauce. It is so delicious. You can eat it with chicken or with Canes's bread. They also have cole slaw that comes with your meal.
There's plenty of space if you want to go with a group of your friends. We enjoyed ourselves there and for me, Cane's is the most delicious chicken fingers restaurant in the U.S.
Raising Cane's is located at 949 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
On many occasions we get colds or the flu. And the first idea that comes to our minds is to start using antibiotics in order to feel comfortable and hope to get better. We also think that they are the solution for many medical issues.
In reality, they do not work as we believe they do!
When you get a cold or the flu, you most likely have a viral infection.
What should you do
You have to get some rest and drink a lot of fluids. Never decide to take antibiotics on your own, as they may not benefit you.
In fact, they can cause you harm if they are not the right treatment for you.
Antibiotics treat bacterial infections and don’t treat viral infections. The misuse of antibiotics in such medical scenarios can create what are known as "superbugs".
When You Use Antibiotics
Use them according to your doctor’s prescription.
Don’t stop taking antibiotics when you feel better. You have to complete the course of antibiotics based on your physician's advice.
Never share antibiotics with others.
Never demand antibiotics from doctors.
Be smart about taking antibiotics and don't make the mistake of believing that an antibiotic is the magical drug that treats everything.
