Jeff started his college baseball career as a freshman catcher when
baseball returned as a varsity sport in 1985. He played his four seasons behind the plate and was named team captain his junior and senior year. Jeff possessed an extremely strong throwing arm and was a very good hitter. Jeff was like a coach on the field, mentoring younger pitchers. He was twice selected as a Greater Boston League (GBL) All-Star.
