Jimmy Wood

A three-year starter for the Terriers at third base, Jimmy was named three times a Greater Boston League All- Star. He was voted captain and team’s MVP in his senior year.

A great fielder with a rifle arm, “Woody”could also hit. Over his three years he accumulated 60 hits,7 home runs,44 RBIs, a .337 league average and did not miss a game in his three- year career.

Woody was named to Coach Bob Crocker’s All-Time Team. Coach Crocker: “Jimmy is one of the finest athletes I have ever coached. He was the perfect captain because he had the respect of every man on the team. On and off the field he displayed nothing but class.”
